Discover the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Luang Prabang, the spectacular multi-tiered Kuangsi Waterfalls and the mysterious Plain of Jars, regarded by some as ‘Asia’s Stonehenge’. Visit exquisite temples in the capital, Vientiane. Journey by boat along the mighty Mekong River and explore some of the 4,000 islands that make up the Si Phan Done area.   • Day 1 - Luang Prabang Arrival - City tour

    Place Transport: Airplane->Car 
    Meals: Dinner
    You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage town. Nestled in a stunning setting amid lush mountains, this sacred city of golden temples and saffron robed monks provides endless opportunities for sightseeing. Visit a number of Wats and some of this peaceful town’s main highlights.

    Day 2 - Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves - Ban Xang Khong weaving Village

    Place Transport: Car->Boat 
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    After breakfast, begin a Mekong Riverboat trip with your guide on the mighty Mekong River to visit the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves. These caves, overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers from on high, have been home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century, when King Setthathirat found the caves and declared them a holy spot. Today many still pay respect with this old tradition. Walk through the caves before returning to your boat and to Luang Prabang town. Enjoy lunch en route. Then visit the village of Ban Xang Khong where weaving of traditional Lao textiles takes place on traditional wooden looms. In the evening stroll through the night market to buy some local crafts and souvenirs.

    Day 3 - Luang Prabang - Some options

    Place Transport: Car->Bicycle->Elephant 
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    Today you can choose from many optional activities. You may wish to embark on a bicycle ride through spectacular scenery, visit an elephant camp where you can ride one of these magnificent creatures through the jungle or swim in a jungle waterfall. Alternatively, you could enjoy a delicious cooking class or even a lesson in the art of silk dyeing.

    Day 4 - Luang Prabang - Fly to Vientiane

    Place Transport: Airplane->Car 
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the short flight to Vientiane. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the capital’s main sights. In the evening, go for a stroll along the banks of the Mekong River and enjoy a drink as the sun sets.

    Day 5 - Vientiane city tour

    Place Transport: Car 
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    After breakfast, you will visit the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to Lao's national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane's own Arc de Triumph.
    In the afternoon, you will be transferred out to see the Buddha Park, a scattered enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. 

    Day 6 - Vientiane Depature

    Place Transport: Airplane 
    Meals: Breakfast
    The day is at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
