  • Day 1 - Luang Prabang Arrival

    Day 2 - Luang Prabang City Tour

    After breakfast, our full day city tour begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. We then enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We also visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham.
    Following lunch, we visit the Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures before we head out of town to see the weaving villages of Ban Xiengkhong and Ban Xienglek. We then return to the city for a visit to Wat Mai. We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang.
    Note: the Royal Palace Museum is closed on Tuesdays. 

    Day 3 - Luang Prabang –Khuang Si Waterfall and Pak Ou Caves

    Firstly, we visit the morning Phousi Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today, you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay- a Hmong village, Ban Ou- a Laoloum village and Ban Thapene- Khmu villages. This then takes us to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. We then return to Luang Prabang.

    This afternoon, we embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai where they make the local rice wine. On return, we disembark the boat to visit traditional villages, and continue taking a short drive to Ban Phanom- a village famous for its hand weaving. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

    Day 4 - Luang Prabang – Pakse – Wat Phu – 4000 Islands

    You will be transferred to the airport this morning for your flight to Pakse. On arrival in Pakse, we drive to Champassak and visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu- one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples. We have time to explore these intriguing Khmer ruins which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Following lunch, we continue our journey by long tail boat to Si Phan Done where you have the rest of the day to relax or to explore the island. Stay overnight in Si Phan Done area.

    Day 5 - 4000 Islands and surrounding

    After an early morning breakfast, we head south by road and boat to Done Khone. Here, we begin by re-tracing the French colonial-past at Ban Khone where some old colonial houses still stand and glimpse the first Lao railway with its own locomotive. We continue our exploration of the area of the 4000 islands by boat and visit the beautiful Liphi waterfall which is known as the Samphamith. It forms a natural border between Lao and Cambodia. After that, we return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng - the largest waterfall in South East Asia, also known as the 'Niagara of the east'. Stay overnight in Si Phan Done area.

    Day 6 - 4000 Islands – Pakse Departure

    07.30 – 9.30: Junk Boat sails from Luon Cave toward islets in shape of Man’s head island, Tortoise Island.
    11.00 - 11.30: It’s time for you to check out the junk boat and it will go back to Ha Long city. Lunch will be served in the restaurant. After lunch, the coach picks you up and transfers back to Hanoi. Drop you at the hotel, tour finish at around 16.30.

    Day 6 - Hanoi - Da Nang

    In the afternoon, enjoy Hoi An walking tour in World Heritage town of Hoi An, taking in the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter. Then we take a short boat ride to a nearby island to visit a handicraft village specializing in ceramics and also boat building yards (time for shopping).     Day 7 - Hoi An Ancient Town - My Son Holy Land - Hoi An

    After breakfast, you will spend a full day trip to visit the capital and religious center of the former Champa Kingdom- My Son . It is 40km southwest of Hoi An, located in a lush green valley with dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from mid of the seventh and thirteenth centuries. Then you will visit the museum and the holy site and head back to Hoi An. Afternoon is free at leisure. At night: stay overnight in hotel in Hoi An (Basing in Deluxe Double/Twin Sea View Room).

    Day 8 - Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh

    Having reakfast and then we will transfer you to Da Nang Airport for the short flight to dynamic Ho Chi Minh City which is now still called Saigon. A full day city tour takes in the city’s bustling Chinatown and begins with a visiting to the Thien Hau Temple. From here, you will take a cyclo ride- the most appropriate and unusual way to explore Cho Lon, literally meaning ‘Big market’. The ride will take you to the lively Binh Tay Market. Then visit a lacquer ware factory.
    After lunch, you will visit the War Museum and the former Presidential Palace and walk to visit the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall.     After the historical visit, enjoy some wonderful ice cream at Fanny’s, a quaint little parlor with a French atmosphere before exploring the trendy boutiques on Ton That Thiep Street.

    Day 9 - Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho (Mekong Delta)

    After breakfast, we will leave Ho Chi Minh for Cai Be, deep in the Mekong Delta, and embark on a cruise on the Cai Be Princess junk boat. The tour begins with a visit of the colorful Cai Be floating market, followed by some local home factories that produce rice paste, rice popcorn and coconut candy. Proceed to evergreen islands among the Mekong River through a large network of meandering tributaries, crisscrossed with countless arroyos. Lunch will be served right at a fruit orchard before we cruise to Vinh Long to discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life.     Day 10 - Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City

  • Day 1 - Bangkok - Kanchanaburi - Baan Huay Ulong

    Place Transport: Car->Train

    This morning, visit two uniquely Thai markets: one of which sits upon the railroad tracks and the other upon a small canal where the vendors sell their wares from traditional boats. Tour the sights of Kanchanaburi and take a train ride along the infamous death railway line. Reach your eco-lodge resort in the early evening.
    Stay overnight in Baan Huay Ulong.

    Day 2 - Baan Huay Ulong - Sangkhlaburi

    Visit Sangkhlaburi, a small town near the Burmese border. Stop en route at the beautiful Kroeng Kravia Waterfall. Situated on the banks of Songkalia Lake, your overnight campground is the perfect place for relaxation and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.

    Day 3 - Sangkhlaburi - Songkaria - Mae Tiew

    Place Transport: Car
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    Leave the village this morning, and trek to the small river island of Mae Tiew. Along the way, wade through shallow rivers, push through dense foliage, and soak in the clean air. Have a swim in the river or explore the island before enjoying dinner and an overnight in this tranquil area.
    Stay overnight in Mae Tiew.
    Trekking time/grade: 6 hours/moderate to challenging.

    Day 4 - Mae Tiew - Rafting - Sangkhlaburi

    Place Transport: Car
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    After a light breakfast, relax as you trek float down the river on a local bamboo or rubber raft to the village of Songkaria. This village is home to both the Mon and Karen people and is situated half way up to Three Pagodas Pass. Exploring the village will give you more insight into the local traditions and customs of these people. Travel via the Burmese border post of Three Pagoda's pass before returning to Sangkhlaburi.
    Stay overnight in Sangkhlaburi.
    Rafting time/grade: 2-3 hours/easy to moderate.

    Day 5 - Kanchanaburi

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    Start this morning with breakfast at your resort, relaxing in the pristine environment of Sangkhlaburi. Travel to historic Kanchanaburi and the safari-style tented camp on Hintok Mountain. With sweeping views of the beautiful landscape and the River Kwai, you will feel relaxed in this tranquil environment.

    Day 6 - Kanchanaburi - Bangkok
